We can offer counsel and representation before international judicial bodies or in domestic procedures conducted under foreign Law, including EU Member States Law and non-EU Law.

INTERNATIONAL PROCEEDURES

Even though a client may face legal proceedings in Spain, it is not rare that due to a matter’s complexity judicial cooperation with foreign authorities may be necessary (letters rogatory, European warrants to obtain evidence and the full array of legal mechanisms derived from the mutual recognition of criminal decisions in the European Union). Correspondingly, in complex criminal cases, factually related and relevant issues can be taking place in parallel legal proceedings in Spain as well as outside of Spain. The adequate defense of our clients’ interests in these cases requires a transnational focused and equipped criminal law practice and counsel.

COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

Our services include the preparation and presentation before the Spanish courts of EU Criminal Law question, in order to ensure the interests of our clients and the adequacy of Spanish legal standards and procedures to those set forth by EU Law.

EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS

We ensure the respect of the Fundamental Rights of our clients, by offering our services in cases where national authorities have failed to uphold or recognize them by bringing complaints before the Strasbourg Court.

THE EUROPEAN ARREST WARRANT

Our services include counsel in legal proceedings where our clients face transfers to other legal system or when the enforcement of a sentence is claimed by a foreign country.

Given our Director’s ongoing commitment to academic, technical and practical excellence both as a seasoned practitioner and as a Doctor of Laws and University Professor, our services include the preparation of legal opinions on questions of International Criminal Law.
